How to Register Your Business for Sales Taxes and Resale Certificates in Your State
Sales Taxes
October 31, 2017
In these guides, we walk you through the process of registering your business and applying for resale certificates in order to not pay value-added taxes on the goods you buy to resell in each state.
We know how complicated things can be when setting up a new business or converting a small after-work money-making enterprise into a real, viable source of income. We know that it can be a hassle to try and decode your local tax laws, and registering your business. That`s why we have created a set of free guides on registering your business, and sales taxes across each of the 50 states and Washington DC, with the exception of those states that don’t use sales taxes.
In some states, a merchandise buyer/reseller may be exempt from paying tax on the merchandise they buy specifically for resale. This can save you a lot of money. We know this is important, so we have included information on these exemptions in the guides where applicable.
Delaware, Montana, Oregon, New Hampshire and Alaska don’t have sales taxes, and so will not be included.
